Award winning social enterprise.
As a social enterprise, Mipri's primary focus is on ensuring business viability while encouraging economic empowerment and personal development among women and the youth of developing countries in West Africa.
A core of West Africa’s population are youth and women. We provide a structured institutionalized employment offering training and professional development, vacation days, and pension schemes for our staff. We are making in-roads in creating a formal avenue of decent and sustainable employment out of the notoriously informal domestic assistance sector in the sub-region. At Mipri, we don’t only create jobs we also create opportunities for growth. Our experience has shown that 15% of the youth that have been placed in employment with Mipri, have sought to return to either night school to finish their high school education, or enrolled in university to pursue higher education; all while working in a part-time position with Mipri.
Mipri’s initiative not only benefits our employees but it also provides assistance to the working professional, especially women, who are now advancing their careers. By providing reliable domestic and child care, we take the burden off the women who are the primary caregivers in Africa and who would hitherto have abandoned their career goals to care for the home.
This is a simple innovation, but a clear strategy to tackling future poverty and gender inequality levels.
