Overview

The Liberia Work Abroad Program is an initiative designed to connect talented and motivated individuals from Liberia with training and employment opportunities in international labor markets. The program aims to expand pathways for economic mobility while supporting the development of a skilled global workforce.

By partnering with employers, training institutions, and international recruitment networks, the program prepares participants with the skills, certifications, and support needed to work successfully abroad.

Why This Program Matters

Liberia has a young and growing population with strong potential to contribute to the global economy. However, many individuals face limited access to formal employment opportunities. At the same time, many countries are experiencing workforce shortages across key sectors.

The Liberia Work Abroad Program helps bridge this gap by preparing qualified candidates for employment opportunities overseas while equipping them with valuable skills and professional experience.

Program Goals

  • Create structured pathways for Liberians to access legal employment opportunities abroad

  • Provide participants with industry-relevant training and certifications

  • Connect skilled workers with international employers experiencing labor shortages

  • Support professional development and global workforce integration

  • Enable participants to gain experience that can contribute to long-term economic growth and knowledge transfer

How the Program Works

The program operates through a structured process designed to prepare candidates for international employment:

  • 1
    Recruitment

Qualified candidates are recruited from across Liberia, from Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs in the country

  • 2
    Skills Assessment

Applicants undergo evaluations to match them with suitable international job opportunities.

  • 3
    Training

Participants receive short-term technical and professional training to meet employer requirements.

  • 4
    Placement

Successful candidates are connected with vetted international employers.

  • 5
    Pre-Departure Preparation

Workers receive orientation and support before beginning employment abroad.
